Audit Committee; prepares yearly Audit Reports by reviewing financial records and banking statements. Typically this committee meets once or twice per year to prepare the report to file by january 1st of each year.
Budget Committee; this committee prepares the budget for the local for the upcoming fiscal year that runs from October 1st through September 30th. The committee follows the Financial Standards to designate how the locals money is spent. This committee should meet quarterly to review and make necessary adjustments.
Safety & Health Committee; the purpose of this committee is to identify and address issues that are of concern to our members that may be affecting their workplace and homes such as air quality, ergonomics and violence. Meetings are planned as necessary by the committee chair.
Events Committee; this is the fun committee that plans the yearly events for our members and guests. The committee is responsible for all aspects of the event from beginning to end. Meetings are planned as necessary by thr chair.
Grievance Committee; due to the confidentiality issues, this commitee consists of trained and appointed stewards and grievance representatives. The members are responsible for handling current grievances and reviewing past grievances. The chair of this committee receives a small quarterly stipend as established by our by-laws.
Newsletter/Website Committee; this is the life line of the local. The members of this committee are responsible for keeping our website updated and production of our written publication. There are various duties that the committee members can choose according to their expertise and talents.This committee can have two chair people to share responsibilities.
Political Action Committee;this is the committee that keeps us informed of the political issues affecting us all. Meeting candidates for office is sometimes necessary.
Membership Committee;this is our welcome committee for new members, our sunshine committee for ill members and farewell committee for retiring members. Existing members can also contact committee members with updates of their information.
